Hey, here’s a dirty little secret that the Republicans want you to forget. THEY DON’T LIKE THEIR OWN BUDGET PROPOSALS.

Back on April 15, 2011, the House was voting on the Republican Study Committee’s alternative budget. The Democrats pulled a beautiful stunt on the Republicans. At the last minute, the Democrats switched all of their votes from “no” to “present.” That meant that the vote would pass since the Republicans were voting “yes” to pass the bill.

The Republicans then panicked. They then fumbled all over themselves to vote AGAINST the Republican authored bill that they claimed would help the economy and the country. And then after the Republican authored bill went down in flames because of Republican votes, RSC Chairman Jim Jordan posted the following on Facebook.

“Our Republican Study Committee (RSC) balanced budget came within 18 votes of passing on the House Floor today,” he wrote. “I am disappointed we did not win, but this is the closest we have ever been to passing our balanced budget. I am motivated to keep fighting to balance the budget and begin paying down our national debt.”

The Republicans said it was a bill built on strong conservative principles. The Republicans said that passage of the bill would help suffering Americans and businesses. The REPUBLICANS voted it down.

So did they just not believe their own hype or were they trying to hurt Americans?
